A pretty popular question right now is what time does Tiger Woods tee off at the Masters? The 88th edition of the golf major kicks off on Thursday, April 11th, 2024. Augusta National has released the tee times for the opening two rounds of the tournament. So, we have that information and more for you to plan out when you’re going to check out the golf action the next few days as we head into the weekend.
Is Tiger Woods Playing in the 2024 Masters?
The big question the other day was if Tiger was even going to play in the Masters this year? Not only has he responded with a strong yes, but Tiger has been crushing it on the course as well. Now, the big question will be, can he sustain his body physically to give it a legit shot to win the 2024 Masters? This will be the 26th time that Tiger has played in the tournament.
He has only missed three since his debut in 1995 (2014, 2017, and 2021). Tiger’s overall record in this timeframe include five wins (the last in 2019) and nine top-10 finishes. Over the last 12 years; however, the only other time he really competed besides 2019 was in 2013 when he came in tied for 4th.
What Time Does Tiger Woods Tee Off?
So, what time does Tiger Woods tee off at the Masters? For Round 1, he will tee off at 1:24 PM Eastern Time / 10:24 AM PT. On Friday, round 2, he tee’s off at 10:18 AM ET, 7:18 AM PT. Based on what I have seen on TV today, we can expect the Masters TV coverage to spend an inordinate amount of time covering Tiger if he is anywhere near the lead or just doing well. ***Please note that due to weather, the tee times were shifted 2.5 hours later today. That will put Tiger closer to 354PM to tee off. We’ll update you more later if the rain holds off.
Who is Tiger Woods Paired With during Rounds 1 and 2?
Tiger Woods is paired with Jason Day and Max Homa at the 2024 Masters for the opening two rounds. When informed about the pairing, Jason Day was a tad surprised and in jest said, “As long as I beat that old man, I’ll be happy.”
How do Pairings Work on the Weekend at Augusta National?
So, the cut at the Masters occurs after the second round. The top 50 players + ties make it to the third and fourth rounds of play. This reduces the field by 20-30 golfers, so the pairings will be in sets of two vice three on the weekend. Unlike some other golf tournaments, all golfers tee off on #1 at The Masters. There is no teeing off on #10 and coming back around. The pairings for the third and fourth rounds are based solely on scores. They get released shortly after the conclusion of the second round of play. We’ll keep you posted on any updates and changes to Tiger’s Masters schedule.
