Masters Round 3 FAQ

Question: What is “Moving Day” at the Masters?

Answer: Moving Day is the third round of the Masters (Saturday), where players try to position themselves for Sunday’s finale. With the cut finalized, golfers often take more risks to “move” up the leaderboard before the final pairings are set.

Question: What was the 2026 Masters cut line?

Answer: The official 36-hole cut for the 2026 Masters was +4. The top 50 players (including ties) advanced to the weekend.

Question: How are pairings determined for Round 3?

Answer: Unlike the first two rounds, Saturday pairings are based entirely on the leaderboard. The players with the highest scores tee off first in the morning, while the leaders (McIlroy and Burns) tee off last in the afternoon.

Question: Is there a “10-shot rule” for the cut?

Answer: No. Since 2020, the Masters has used a strict “Top 50 and ties” rule. Any player more than 50th place is eliminated, regardless of how many strokes they are behind the leader.
