The 2024 WNBA schedule kicks off regular season play on May 14th. Prior to that, the league has preseason games from May 4th for about a week. The 12 teams in the league all play a total of 40 games against each other. The final WNBA 2024 regular season games take place on September 19th, 2024. What is the WNBA Commissioner’s Cup?
The WNBA Commissioner’s Cup is an in-season tournament. It is a little different than the one run by the NBA, in that there are 10 games per term that count toward Cup play. The team in each conference that has the top record in designated cup games competes for the Commissioner’s Cup Title to go with an extra prize pool. The Cup games are the first home and road game the teams play against their conference rivals. The New York Liberty won the 2023 WNBA Commisioner’s Cup over the Las Vegas Aces. The 2024 Commissioner’s Cup Championship game is scheduled to take place June 25th, 2024.
2024 WNBA Schedule – Olympics and More
So, to help facilitate WNBA player participation in the 2024 Olympic basketball tournament, the league takes a month off mid-season. From July 21st to August 14th they are on break for the 2024 Olympics. This coincides with the 2024 All-Star break (July 18-21, 2024). Right now, only active WNBA players are on the Paris Olympics roster; however, Caitlin Clark and other players have been extended invites to attend when they wrap up March Madness. Interest by the fans is way up for all things women’s basketball, and that is expected to continue to build as we get into the WNBA season and Olympic tournament.

The 12 teams in the WNBA for the 2024 season are split between the Eastern and Western Conference. We have the regular season schedules for each team listed out for you below. The games run through September 19th, 2024 prior to the postseason beginning.
WNBA Postseason Play
The 2024 WNBA postseason tournament starts on September 22nd, 2024. The top eight teams across both conferences earn spots in the tournament. They get seeded by regular season record.
