PGA Championship Background and Tickets

2024 will be the 106th edition of the PGA Championship. The tournament is historically the second professional golf major to take place each year. It is normally in mid-May approximately a month after the Masters takes place. The U.S. major used to be the fourth and final one each year, but was moved to the weekend before Memorial Day in 2019. Similar to the Masters, if you are looking to buy tickets on the primary market for the event, you will need to do so in June (for the next year).

Tickets normally start out around $500 and higher for the tournament days. You can get practice day tickets a lot cheaper. The golfers compete for the Wanamaker trophy and a purse that can exceed $3 million for the champion. Brooks Koepka won the PGA Championship for the third time in 2023. His winner’s share of the purse was $3.15 million.
