Where do the Kansas City Chiefs Play Football?

Where do the Kansas City Chiefs Play Football?

Every year when football season gears up a common question arises. Where do the Kansas City Chiefs play football? The answer is Arrowhead Stadium. With how many times the Chiefs have either won the Super Bowl or gone fairly deep in the NFL Playoffs in recent years, the stadium is pretty familiar to AFC fans of all teams. We get into more details about the stadium and surrounding area for you.

Where do the Kansas City Chiefs Play Football?

So, unlike other teams, when you look up where do the Kansas City Chiefs play football. You won’t find 19 different names of sponsors from the past. Arrowhead Stadium does have a branded name starting in March of 2021 though. It is officially known as GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium through January of 2031.

This timing of the name also coincides with the expiration of the leases for the Chiefs and Royals with the stadium owner, the Jackson County Sports Complex Authority. Arrowhead is the sixth largest stadium in the NFL. Arrowhead is part of the Truman Sports Complex along with the Royals ballfield, Kauffman Stadium.

How Loud is Arrowhead Stadium?

Even though the stadium is not in the top-5 for size, fans set a Guinness World Record for loudest stadium on September 29th, 2014. The noise was recorded during a Monday Night Football game against the Patriots. The sound topped out at 142.2 decibels during the game.

Arrowhead Stadium Seating Capacity

Arrowhead Stadium was most recently renovated in 2010 and has a seating capacity of 76,416. This puts it as the 25th largest stadium in the U.S. and sixth largest in the NFL. The stadium was selected to host matches during the 2026 FIFA World Cup. It also hosts college football games and soccer matches at times.

Where is Arrowhead Stadium Located in Kansas City?

If you have never been to Arrowhead Stadium before, it is located in eastern Kansas City, Missouri at the Truman Sports Complex. The address for your phone is 1 Arrowhead Drive, Kansas City, MO 64129. Until I visited Kansas City for the first time, I never realized that you have Kansas City in both states 🙂 They are two different cities with two different municipal governments (not that we really care about that for football purposes). Kansas City, Kansas is considered a suburb of the KC on the Missouri side. Either way, there are a ton of options for getting to the stadium on game day.

What’s the Best Way to Get to Arrowhead Stadium?

If you are flying in to town for the game, Kansas City International Airport (MCI) is closest to the stadium. The airport is 28 miles from the stadium. If you don’t have a ton of traffic, it will take approximately 35 minutes to drive from the airport to the stadium (whether a car rental, ride-share, or taxi). There is a bus route to the stadium, and if you are already downtown, the Kansas City Streetcar is a great option too.

Parking at Arrowhead Stadium on Game Day

Just like other big NFL towns, parking at Arrowhead Stadium on Game Day gets sportier the closer to game time you get. If you plan on parking in Lot F (general parking), then a cool thing you can do now is buy the parking in advance to ensure you have a spot. There are also a number of parking garages and businesses that offer parking in the local area for a fee. Some include shuttles as well.

You just have to plan it out early if you want to find the most affordable parking possible. If you are trying to park for the 2025 NFL Playoffs at Arrowhead (assuming they make yet another run at the Super Bowl), then expect the parking to be even crazier (and pricier).

Upcoming College Football Games at Arrowhead Stadium

Since Memorial Stadium (home of the Kansas Jayhawks) is being overhauled, all of their home games will be played at alternative locations. Four of the games will be played at Arrowhead in the 2024 college football season. Here is the Kansas Jayhawks Arrowhead football schedule for 2024 for you.
