It’s almost time. The 2024 Stanley Cup Playoffs TV schedule kicks off on April 20th. We’ll probably see four games (at least) played on Sunday. All of the hockey playoff action will be shown across ESPN, ABC, ESPN2, TNT, and TBS this year. This is the third season that the NHL is under their new broadcast deal. We’ll see the Stanley Cup Finals broadcast exclusively on ABC. For those that don’t follow closely, ABC is now part of the ESPN network of networks.
How Many Teams are in the Stanley Cup Playoffs?
There are 16 teams in the Stanley Cup playoffs. Eight teams earn spots from each conference in the NHL. The 2024 Stanley Cup Playoff bracket is split up across the two conferences. The champion of each faces off in the Stanley Cup Finals. Of note, the Las Vegas Golden Knights are the defending 2023 Stanley Cup champions. It was their first championship in team history. It has also been more than 30 years since a Canadian-based team won the Stanley Cup. So, we’ll see if Toronto can overcome the hex!
