The 2024 OVC basketball tournament schedule will take place between March 6th-9th, 2024 at the Ford Center in Evansville, Indiana. The tournament will determine which of the top eight teams in the conference earn the automatic bid to the 2024 NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament. The majority of the tournament is on ESPN+ or ESPNU. The championship game is on ESPN2.
How Does the OVC Tournament Seeding Work?
The OVC only permits the top eight teams to move on to postseason play in the conference tournament. If teams have identical records, then their head-to-head records are used to break the tie. If they are still tied, then they will use the difference in NET ranking to break the tie. There are two teams in the conference this year (Southern Indiana and Lindenwood) who are not eligible for the NCAA tournament in the event they win the OVC tourney due to recently transitioning to Division I play. In this case, the tournament runner-up will earn the bid. If both teams face each other in the championship, then the highest seed from the semifinals will get the bid.
