The 2024 NCAA basketball tournament schedule will kick-off on March 19, 2024. This year’s Division I men’s basketball tournament will see 68 teams playing in a single-elimination tournament. The winner of the tourney will be the 2023-24 NCAA Division I men’s college basketball national champion. This will be the 85th edition of the NCAA Tournament. The Final Four and championship game will take place at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona.
How Many Teams are in the 2024 NCAA Basketball Tournament Schedule?
For the 2024 edition of March Madness, there will be 68 teams who earn a spot in the tournament field. There are 32 automatic bids for the programs that win their conference tournaments, etc. The NCAA Selection Committee chooses the 36 at-large bids. The teams get seeded from #1 to #68. Eight teams are picked to play in the First Four. These games take place on March 19th and 20th and the winners will proceed to the field of 64.
When is Selection Sunday?
The 2024 Selection Sunday broadcast will take place on March 17th, 2024. The show airs on CBS again this year. This will be the debut of the 2024 March Madness field where we see how all of the bracketology settled out. The First Four starts two days later and will be held at the University of Dayton again.

For the 2024 NCAA Men’s Basketball tournament, CBS Sports and TNT Sports have the U.S. rights to show the games. This year, we will see TBS televise the 2024 Final Four and National Championship game as part of the rotation the networks started eight years again. You will also be able to stream CBS games on Paramount+ and on March Madness Live for free.
