The preseason college basketball AP poll for the 2024-25 regular season is out. The Big 12 has three of the top five and five of the top 10 teams in the poll. Defending champion, UConn, is ranked #3 behind #1 Kansas and #2 Alabama. This is the second consecutive season that the Jayhawks are the preseason #1.

The preseason college basketball AP Poll sees defending champion, UCONN, coming in at #3 with 11 first place votes compared to 30 for Kansas. Houston is ranked #4, and Iowa State #4. Kansas enters the 2024-25 regular season with one of the best transfer classes in the NCAA. We also see Coach Cal at Arkansas and Coach Mark Pope at Kentucky this season. Most teams kickoff the regular season on or around November 4th, 2024 this year.
