The 2025 NFL Playoff picture and standings are listed below. On the road to Super Bowl LIX, we will update the latest standings and where everyone sits for you over the course of the 18 week NFL regular season. The 2025 NFL Playoffs are set to kickoff on Saturday, January 11th, 2025 with the Wild Card Round of play. The Kansas City Chiefs will be trying to win their third Super Bowl in a row this postseason.
2025 NFL Playoff Picture and Standings
The 2025 NFL Playoff picture and standings will continue to change throughout the 18 week regular season. The NFL has even made it a point that the kickoff times and exact dates in week 18 will be confirmed heading into week 17 to ensure we get the best matchups for primetime viewing. The 2025 NFL Wild Card round of play is set to take place between January 11th-13th, 2025 this season. There will be seven teams from each conference who earn a playoff spot this postseason.
How Many Teams Make the NFL Playoffs?
A total of 14 teams — seven from the AFC and seven from the NFC — make the NFL playoffs. The field is made up the four division winners (North, South, East and West) and three wild card teams (best record of teams that didn’t win the division). As we get deeper into the 2024-25 NFL regular season, we’ll update the playoff picture and standings so you see where your favorite team sits.

2025 NFL Playoff Schedule
The 2025 NFL Playoff schedule starts with the Wild Card round of play. The top-rated team in each conference gets a bye for this round of the playoffs. After the Wild Card round of play, the matchups are modified so that the #1 seed plays the lowest remaining seed from the Wild Card round of play.
