For the 2024 ACC football schedule, there are three new teams in the league. Cal, SMU, and Stanford all joined the league for this season.
What is the Updated ACC Football Scheduling Model?
With conference expansion to 17 teams, the ACC updated their scheduling model for the 2024 football season. The model is planned over seven years and runs through the 2030 college football season. This ensures that each member team plates the others at least twice over the seven year stretch (one away and one home). Additionally, the 14 teams that were in the league in 2023 will play in California three times over the next seven years. No team will travel to California in back-to-back seasons. There will be a total of 68 ACC games under the new model which is an increase from 56 games.
When is the 2024 ACC Football Championship Game?
The 2024 ACC football championship game schedule takes place on December 7th, 2024. The game is set to kickoff at 8PM ET and will be shown on ABC. The game will be played at Bank of America Stadium. The top two teams based on overall conference winning percentage get to play each other this year in the title game.
When are the 2024 ACC Annual Rivalry Games Scheduled?
One of the nice aspects to the 2024 ACC football schedule is 16 of the annual rivalry matchups are preserved. There were 11 preserved from 2023, three new ones, and two restored from previous rivalry matchups. The 16 games are spread out over seven weeks of the season with five of them set for the final day of the 2024 college football regular season.

2024-25 College Football Postseason
After an undefeated FSU got left out of the mix for the 2024 College Football playoff, we saw some big changes for this season. There is now a 12 team College Football Playoff. We’ll see at least one ACC team get into the playoffs if not two. We have the expanded playoff along with all of the NCAA football bowl games that we are used to seeing.
