The Cotton Bowl has taken place in the Dallas-Fort Worth area since 1937. The game was originally played at the Cotton Bowl stadium before it moved to AT&T Stadium in Arlington in 2010. Goodyear Tire and Rubber company has been the sponsor of the game since 2014. The bowl originally hosted the Southwest Conference against a SEC runner-up or major independent until 1996. From then until 2014 it hosted a runner-up from the Big 12 against an SEC team until 2014.
