It’s difficult to say. Now that he’s played against MLB clubs without the world ending for those teams playing against him, that might have opened the door slightly. Heck, the real conspiracy theorists out there could say MLB could lobby for it to distract us from the ever-evolving Shohei Otani – interpreter– I wasn’t gambling drama!
I think the time in Cleveland was a bit rocky though separate from all of the off-work issues that he’s had though.
