The 2024 Southland basketball tournament schedule starts on March 10th, 2024. The tournament runs through March 13th, 2024, and is at The Legacy Center in Lake Charles, Louisiana. The tournament champion earns the automatic bid to the 2024 NCAA Men’s basketball tournament for the league.
How Does the Southland Conference Tournament Seeding Work?
Only eight teams in the Southland Conference qualify for the postseason tournament. For any of those eight teams who are tied, the league uses standard head-to-head tiebreaker rules. Then, comparisons against individual teams in the conference are used (higher seeds first). If still tied, then NCAA NET rankings will be used to break the tie. The top two seeds in the tournament will receive double byes. The #3 and #4 seeds will get single byes.
