The America East tourney champion earns the conference automatic bid to the 2024 NCAA Men’s D-I basketball tournament.
How Does the America East Conference Tournament Seeding Work?
Unlike other conferences in D-I men’s basketball, only eight of the nine teams in the America East qualify for the postseason tournament. The team seeds are set by their conference record with a tie-breaking system in place for tied teams. The America East does not award byes to the top-ranked teams in their single elimination bracket format. The team matchups reseed for the semifinals. This pits the highest seed against the lowest remaining.
