The 2026 NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series and Truck Series playoffs use the same new points-based Chase as the Cup Series. The old elimination bracket is gone in all three series. The O’Reilly Auto Parts Series (formerly the Xfinity Series) runs a 12-driver, 9-race Chase, and the Craftsman Truck Series runs a 10-driver, 7-race Chase. 2026 NASCAR O’Reilly & Truck Playoffs: Quick Facts
- What format do they use? The same 2026 points-based Chase as the Cup Series. No elimination rounds and no Championship 4.
- O’Reilly Auto Parts Series (formerly Xfinity): 12 drivers, a 9-race Chase, points reset from 2,100 down to 2,020 for the 12th seed.
- Craftsman Truck Series: 10 drivers, a 7-race Chase, points reset from 2,100 down to 2,030 for the 10th seed.
- How is the champion decided? By points. The driver with the most points after the Homestead-Miami finale wins.
- When is the finale? The Homestead-Miami championship weekend in early November (Truck finale November 6).

The second-tier series is now called the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series after O’Reilly Auto Parts took over title sponsorship from Xfinity for 2026. Its playoff is a 9-race points Chase for the top 12 drivers, who reset from 2,100 points down to 2,020 for the 12th seed and then race from Darlington to the Homestead finale. The champion is simply whoever scores the most points across those nine races. The Chase races, in order:
