How the 2026-27 CAA season works
The Coastal Athletic Association has 13 members for 2026-27: Charleston, Campbell, Drexel, Elon, Hampton, Hofstra, Monmouth, North Carolina A&T, Northeastern, Stony Brook, Towson, UNCW and William & Mary. Each team plays an 18-game conference schedule against 12 opponents, facing six of them twice (home and away) and six once. League play tips off Thursday, December 31, 2026 and runs into early March, and where a team finishes sets its seed for the CAA Tournament.
All 13 teams reach the 2027 CAA Tournament, March 5 to 9 at CareFirst Arena in Washington, DC. The regular-season finish decides the byes: the top four seeds get a double bye straight to the quarterfinals, seeds five through eleven get a first-round bye, and seeds twelve and thirteen open the event. The tournament champion takes the CAA’s automatic NCAA Tournament bid.
