Print the bracket, fill in the eight batters and their Round 1 home-run totals, then follow the top four into the semifinals and final. It is built to match the new 2026 format exactly.

New for 2026: how the format works

MLB is retiring the clock that governed the Derby since 2015 and going back to a swing-based setup. Each batter gets a fixed number of swings per round instead of racing a timer, and every swing counts whether it leaves the yard or not. It rewards quality over frantic pace, and it makes the printable bracket easy to score at home.

  • No timer and no outs. Swings per round: 20 in Round 1, 15 in the semifinals, 15 in the final.
  • Every swing counts toward a batter’s allotment, homer or not. Homer on your last swing and you keep swinging until you fail to go deep.
  • Round 1 is a single 8-batter pool (not a bracket). The four highest home-run totals advance.
  • Semifinals are seeded by Round 1 totals: No. 1 vs. No. 4 and No. 2 vs. No. 3, head-to-head, with the two winners meeting in the final.
  • Tiebreakers: Round 1 ties are settled by longest home-run distance; later rounds use three-swing swing-offs.

2026 Home Run Derby field

The eight-man field is announced in the days leading up to July 13. Rays third baseman Junior Caminero, the 2025 runner-up, was the first to commit and is chasing the title of youngest Derby champion in history. This section updates as the rest of the field is confirmed; use the printable to pencil in batters as they are announced.
