How 2026 MLB All-Star Voting Works
Fans elect the All-Star Game starters through a two-phase ballot. In Phase 1, fans voted across every position, and the top two vote-getters at each spot (plus the top six outfielders) advanced as finalists. The single top overall vote-getter in each league earned an automatic starting spot.
In Phase 2, the Starters Election, those finalists go head to head and fans pick the winners. Phase 1 vote totals do not carry over, so every finalist starts from zero. The Phase 2 winners become the elected starters at each position. Starting pitchers and reserves are then chosen by a combination of player ballvoting and the Commissioner’s Office, and the full rosters are revealed on July 4.
