It’s almost race day. We have the latest Kentucky Derby odds for 2024 for you. The 150th Run for the Roses takes place on Saturday, May 4th, 2024 at Churchill Downs. Kentucky Derby Favorites for 2024
So, in the history of the Kentucky Derby, there has been one of the prep races that stands out from the others. That is the Florida Derby. The winner of the Florida has gone on to win the Kentucky Derby 15 times. There isn’t another prep race that has had more than 11 horses win both races. If you are one who likes to go with trends, then you should definitely look at Fierceness pretty seriously. The horse won the 2024 Florida Derby.

Fierceness (3-1)
Fierceness has flipped and flopped with Sierra Leone as the favorite for the race. The horse won the Florida Derby. We’ll see how the odds move around based on what position is drawn on Saturday.
Sierra Leone (7-2)
Sierra Leone almost won the Remsen Stakes. The horse won the Risen Star Stakes on February 17th (the first 50 point Kentucky Derby prep race). He also did an awesome job in the Blue Grass Stakes. It should be a good matchup with Fierceness.
Catching Freedom (8-1)
So, you can’t discount any horse that has won twice on the road to the Kentucky Derby. Catching Freedom won the Louisiana Derby and the Jones Stakes. He should be more than capable to compete for the win.
Forever Young (10-1)
So, Forever Young has a perfect record. The Japanese colt has won the UAE Derby and the Saudy Derby leading up to the race.
