What’s so cool about the Indy 500?
2024 will be the 108th edition of the famous race. It is one of the most-watched race events in the United States. The Indy 500 Festival takes place throughout May leading up to the event. The 500 mile race makes 200 laps around the course. We’ll also get to see Kyle Larson attempt to race both the Indy 500 and the NASCAR Coca Cola 600 this year.
If there is rain, the race gets stopped and postponed until it stops. The Indy 500 becomes official after 101 laps have been run. There are no permanent lights on the track, so if the delays go that long, it picks back up later (first possible day). It’s just a cool race to check out if you have time.
