The 2024 Olympic badminton schedule will be the ninth time the event has been part of the Summer Olympic Games. Badminton was first played during the 1992 Olympics held in Barcelona, Spain. There are five total events in the sport this time. There will be singles (men and women), doubles (men and women), and mixed doubles. The competition is scheduled from July 27th through August 5th, 2024. Qualifiers for the games conclude on April 28th, 2024.
What Countries have Won the Most Badminton Medals?
China had definitely been the dominant country in badminton during the Olympics. They have won 18 gold medals and a total of 41 overall. Other countries that do well each go are South Korean, Indonesia, Spain, and Denmark. The United States, notably, has never won an Olympic badminton medal unlike other fan favorite sports like men’s and women’s basketball.
What is the 2024 Olympic Venue for Badminton?
The 2024 Olympic badminton schedule takes place at the Porte de La Chapelle Arena. The new arena is designed to serve the local residents after the Paris Olympics are a history note (unlike what we see in some past host countries). It can fit 8,000 fans for basketball games and over 9,000 for music concerts. The venue will host badminton and rhythmic gymnastics for the Olympic schedule and also para badminton and powerlifting in the Paralympics.
2024 Olympic Badminton Schedule (July 27-30)
The schedule is listed out by U.S. East Coast time for those who like to watch the games live in the United States. Not quite as crazy of a schedule to watch as when they are held in Asia, but still a little early on some days. In my experience, the Olympics are more fun to watch live, no matter where you live.
