No-Vig & Hold Calculator
Use this free no-vig calculator to strip the vig out of a two-way market and find the fair line. Enter the odds for both sides and the tool shows the sportsbook’s hold, the true no-vig probability of each outcome, and the fair odds you would need to break even. It works with American or decimal odds.
What Is the Vig and Hold?

The vig, also called juice or hold, is the margin a sportsbook builds into its odds. Add up the implied probabilities of both sides of a market and you get more than 100 percent; that extra is the hold. Stripping it out reveals the no-vig line, the book’s true opinion of each outcome. The no-vig calculator above does this instantly and shows the fair odds for both sides.
How to Use the No-Vig Calculator
Pick your odds format and enter the price for each side of a two-way market, such as a moneyline, spread, or total. The calculator returns the sportsbook’s hold, the total implied probability, and the no-vig probability and fair odds for each side. Comparing those fair odds to the price at another book is one of the simplest ways to spot value.
Worked Example
Say a moneyline is -150 on the favorite and +130 on the underdog. The decimals are 1.67 and 2.30, giving implied probabilities of 60.0 percent and 43.5 percent, a total of 103.5 percent. That 3.5 percent over 100 is the hold. Dividing each by the total strips the vig, leaving no-vig probabilities of about 57.98 percent and 42.02 percent, which translate to a fair line of roughly -138 and +138.
Why No-Vig Odds Matter
No-vig odds from a sharp sportsbook are one of the best estimates of the true probability of an outcome. Sharp bettors use them as a baseline: if another book is offering a longer price than the fair no-vig line, that gap is your edge. Removing the vig also lets you compare prices across books honestly, since every book bakes in a different margin.

No-Vig Calculator FAQ
What is a no-vig calculator? A no-vig calculator removes the sportsbook’s margin from a two-way market and shows the fair odds and true probability of each outcome, based on the two prices you enter.
What is the hold in betting? The hold, also called the vig or juice, is how much a sportsbook’s implied probabilities exceed 100 percent. On a standard -110 versus -110 market the hold is about 4.76 percent.
How do you remove the vig from odds? Convert both sides to implied probabilities, add them up, then divide each probability by that total. The results are the no-vig probabilities, and their inverses are the fair odds.
Why use no-vig odds? No-vig odds from a sharp book approximate the true probability of an outcome. Comparing them to prices elsewhere is a fast way to find plus-EV bets and to measure how much juice a book is charging.
What is a good hold percentage for bettors? Lower is better for you. A market with a 2 to 3 percent hold is far friendlier than one with 6 or 7 percent, because less of your money is lost to the margin over time.
