How a MotoGP Weekend Works

Every 2026 round follows the same three-day rhythm. Friday is practice, which sets the cut for direct entry to the top qualifying group. Saturday brings qualifying followed by the Sprint, a short, high-intensity race worth half points to the top nine finishers. Sunday is the main event: the full-length Grand Prix that pays full championship points. Because every weekend now carries a Sprint, points pile up quickly and a bad Saturday can cost as much as a bad Sunday.
