How an NFL Survivor Pool Works
Each week, every entrant picks one team they think will win that week. If your team wins, you move on to the next week. If it loses, you are eliminated. The catch is that you can use each of the 32 teams only once all season, so you cannot lean on the same strong team every week. That forces you to plan ahead and save good matchups for later. The pool continues until one entrant is left, and that person wins the pot. An eliminator or suicide pool is the same idea under a different name.
What Is in the Printable
- An 18-week pick tracker with columns for your team, the result, and whether you are still in
- A checklist of all 32 NFL teams so you never reuse one
- A separate group grid to track every entrant across all 18 weeks
Survivor Pool Strategy Tips
First, do not always take the biggest favorite in Week 1, because everyone else will, and you want teams left for later. Then, look ahead at the full schedule and pencil in which strong teams you want to save for their easiest matchups. Finally, track which teams the rest of your pool has burned; surviving is often about outlasting the field, not picking the flashiest winner. Use the printable tracker so you never accidentally reuse a team.
2026 NFL Survivor Pool: FAQ
What is an NFL survivor pool?
An NFL survivor pool (also called an eliminator or suicide pool) is a season-long contest where you pick one team to win each week. If your team wins you advance; if it loses you are eliminated. You cannot use the same team twice all season, and the last entrant standing wins.
What is the difference between a survivor and an eliminator pool?
They are the same core format under different names. Survivor, eliminator, and suicide pools all mean picking one winning team per week without reusing a team. Some eliminator variants ask you to pick a team to LOSE instead, but the printable works for either.
How many weeks are in a 2026 NFL survivor pool?
The 2026 NFL regular season runs 18 weeks, so the sheet has all 18 weeks plus a checklist of all 32 teams so you never reuse one.
Do ties count as a loss in a survivor pool?
That is up to your pool rules. Many pools count a tie as a loss (elimination); others let you survive. Agree on it before Week 1 and note it on your sheet.
Is the survivor pool sheet free?
Yes. The 2026 NFL survivor pool sheet PDF is free to download, print, and reuse for your whole pool.
