The Toronto Tempo are the WNBA’s 16th franchise and the league’s first team based outside the United States, officially announced on May 23, 2024. Owned by Kilmer Sports Ventures โ led by billionaire Larry Tanenbaum, with notable co-owners including Serena Williams, Sukhinder Singh Cassidy, and Lilly Singh โ the Tempo represent a landmark moment for women’s basketball in Canada.
