For 2026, the regular-season champion, division winners, and wild cards are seeded 1 through 16. The top four seeds earn a double-bye directly into the quarterfinal round (Game 5-8).

Tournament Format & Key Rules
For 2026, the SEC Baseball Tournament uses an expanded 16-team single-elimination bracket. Every game is win-or-go-home – a single loss ends a team’s tournament run.
The 16-Team Expanded Field
All 16 SEC programs qualify for the tournament. Seeding is determined by conference standings, with tiebreakers based on head-to-head record and other league-set criteria.
Byes and Bracket Structure
- Seeds 1-4: Receive a double bye and do not play until the Thursday or Friday quarterfinals.
- Seeds 5-8: Receive a single bye and enter on Wednesday in the second round.
- Seeds 9-16: Open play Tuesday in the first round.
The bracket follows a standard knockout format: First Round → Second Round → Quarterfinals → Semifinals → Championship. The higher seed is the designated home team in every matchup.
Run Rule
The SEC Tournament uses a 10-run mercy rule after seven innings (or the home team’s half of the seventh if leading) for all games except the championship.
