The 2026 SEC Women’s Basketball Tournament schedule returns to the Bon Secours Wellness Arena in Greenville, South Carolina, from March 4–8, 2026. This year marks the second season of the expanded 16-team field, with Texas and Oklahoma now firmly established members of the conference gauntlet. 2026 SEC WOmen's Bracket Update

Now in its second year with a 16-team format, the SEC Tournament schedule has refined its staggered entry system. The top four seeds earn a double-bye into the Quarterfinals on Friday, March 6, a crucial advantage in a conference that has become arguably the deepest in the nation. SEC Women’s Tournament Session Schedule:

  • First Round: Wednesday, March 4 – Two games (SEC Network)
  • Second Round: Thursday, March 5 – Four games (SEC Network)
  • Quarterfinals: Friday, March 6 – Four games (SEC Network)
  • Semifinals: Saturday, March 7 – Two games (ESPNU)
  • Championship Game: Sunday, March 8 – 3:00 PM ET (ESPN)

Expert Note from the Sports Brackets Analyst: Last year was all about the ‘newness’ of Texas and Oklahoma in the bracket. In 2026, the novelty has worn off, and the physical toll of this 16-team format is the real story. Greenville’s ‘The Well’ is a venue where speed kills. With two years of data on this expanded format, we’re seeing that the double-bye is even more essential; it is nearly impossible to survive four games in four days against this level of defensive pressure.

Expert Analysis Update: The Wildcat Trap?

Quick Take: #5 Oklahoma avoided disaster by pulling away from #12 Florida in the final minutes. The Sooners’ win keeps the bracket somewhat aligned, but the real storyline of the day is #9 Kentucky’s decisive victory over #8 Georgia. The Wildcats now advance to face #1 seeded South Carolina tomorrow morning. This sets up a dangerous trap game for the undefeated Gamecocks; Kentucky’s veteran backcourt could give South Carolina trouble if they start slow in Greenville.
