How the Paris Masters Works
Paris is a Masters 1000, the tier just below the Grand Slams, with a 56-player singles draw. The top eight seeds receive first-round byes and open in the second round, while the rest of the field starts in the first round. From there it is straight single elimination: first round, second round, round of 16, quarterfinals, semifinals and the final. The doubles draw runs alongside it, and wheelchair singles and doubles are also on the schedule across the final weekend. Because it is the last Masters 1000 of the year, the results often decide the final seeding and the last qualifying spots for the season-ending ATP Finals.
