How the 2027 NFL Draft Order Works
The first 18 picks go to the 18 teams that miss the playoffs, ordered from worst record to best. Picks 19 through 32 are then filled by the 14 playoff teams in reverse order of how far they advance: teams eliminated in the Wild Card round pick first among that group, then the Divisional-round losers, the Conference Championship losers, the Super Bowl runner-up, and finally the Super Bowl champion at pick 32.
When teams finish with identical records, the tie is broken by strength of schedule, with the team that played the easier schedule picking earlier. Traded picks can move selections around the board, but the underlying order is always set by record first. This tracker reflects projected finishing position now and switches to real standings the moment Week 1 is in the books.
