2026 NFL Training Camp FAQ

When do NFL teams report for training camp in 2026?

Most NFL teams will have rookies report in mid-July, with veterans following roughly a week later. For the 2026 season, expect the majority of veteran reporting dates to fall between July 21 and July 28.

Which teams report to training camp first in 2026?

The Arizona Cardinals and Carolina Panthers will report earlier than the rest of the league because they are competing in the 2026 Hall of Fame Game on August 6. Teams playing in this opening exhibition typically start camp 7-10 days ahead of the standard league schedule.

Where is the 2026 Hall of Fame Game being played?

The game will take place at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium in Canton, Ohio, on Thursday, August 6, 2026, at 8:00 PM ET. It features the Cardinals vs. the Panthers and kicks off the NFL’s 107th season.

Are NFL training camps open to the public?

Most teams host “Fan Appreciation” days and open several practices to the public. However, many teams (like the Cowboys in Oxnard or the Saints in Irvine) require advanced ticket reservations or have limited capacity. Check our team-specific schedule stubs for ticket info.

What is the difference between Mandatory Minicamp and Training Camp?

Mandatory Minicamp (held in June) is a three-day session focused on playbook installation and non-contact drills. Training Camp (July/August) is the official start of the preseason, involving full-padded practices, contact drills, and evaluation for the final 53-man roster.

When is the first game of the 2026 NFL Regular Season?

The 2026 NFL season officially kicks off on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, at Lumen Field in Seattle. The reigning Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks will host the opener at 8:20 PM ET.
