So, I’m sitting here watching the NFL draft, and the NFL schedule release 2024 is still not officially announced. That’s ok. The league is very likely going to release the schedule on Wednesday May 8th or on Thursday May 9th based on precedent set the last five years. This lets the focus be on the players and their families getting drafted into the league. Once the schedules are out, then it’s game on for like 3 months until we get to start the preseason games.
When will the NFL Schedule Release 2024 Take Place?
So, to figure out the NFL schedule release 2024, we can look at 2023 and past years. Last year, the NFL put out the schedules on Thursday, May 11th, 2023. 2024 does make it five years in a row that the NFL puts out the schedule in May. The last year that the NFL put the schedule out in APril was in 2019. SInce then (we’ll throw 2020 away due to COVID), the dates have been May 12th (2021), May 12th (2022), and May 11th (2023).
When does the 2024 NFL Regular Season Start?
The first game of the 2024 NFL regular season will be part of Thursday Night Football. The defending Super Bowl Champion, Kansas City Chiefs, will host a team on the confirmed list of opponents on September 5th, 2024. The league has finally confirmed one game for us (one of the international contests). The Philadelphia Eagles and Green Bay Packers will play the first-ever game in South America at Corinthians Arena in São Paulo, Brazil, on Friday, Sept. 6, 2024.
When Does the NFL Preseason Start?
The 2024 NFL preseason schedule gets started with the Hall of Fame Game. The game is held at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium located in Canton, Ohio. The game sees the Chicago Bears play the Houston Texans on Thursday, August 1st, 2024. Kick off is at 8PM ET. We’ve included links to all of the team schedules for you below.
