So we’re in for a treat. The 2024 WBIT Tournament bracket (Women’s Basketball Invitational Tournament) is the first to ever be played. That’s right. First time. The WBIT selection committee selected a 32-team field that commences play on March 21st, 2024. The championship game takes place on April 3, 2024, at 7 PM Eastern Time and is shown on ESPN 2. We have the updated 2024 WBIT bracket and results posted here for you.
How were WBIT Teams Picked?
The WBIT selection committee is made up of three current/former D-I athletic directors and five former DI women’s basketball coaches. They met to select the teams invited to play in the inaugural tournament. The first, second, and quarterfinal rounds of play are held on campus sites. The tournament moves to Hinkle Fieldhouse in Indianapolis for the tournament semifinals and championship game. The top 16 ranked teams get to host the first round if they 1 – submitted a bid to do so, and 2 – meet the minimum hosting requirements. The first four women’s teams that were left out of the DI tournament received automatic bids and were assigned the top four seeds in the WBIT.
2024 WBIT Tournament Bracket and TV Schedule
The final TV times are to be assigned at the time of this writing. Generally, you can plan on the preliminary rounds being shown on ESPN+. The semi finals are being shown on ESPNU, and the championship game on ESPN2. Keep in mind, we can have multiple games played at the same time with the games being played at campus sites. We’ll keep you updated.
