The 2024 Florida Gators football schedule starts on August 31st, 2024. The Gators host Miami at home in the Swamp. Florida’s first SEC game is against Texas A&M on September 14th, 2024, at home as well. The Gators wrap up regular season play in their annual rivals match on the road against the Florida State Seminoles.
What’s Different for Florida Football in 2024?
There are two big news items in SEC play this season. First, the East and West divisions are no more. The top two seeded teams in the SEC at the end of the regular season will earn spots in the SEC football championship game that is scheduled on Pearl Harbor Day, December 7th, 2024. The next big deal is the additions of Texas and Oklahoma to the conference. Florida will play Texas for the first time as an SEC member on Saturday, November 9th, 2024 at Texas.

2024-25 College Football Playoffs
Another big change for all of college football (not just the SEC), is the expansion of the college football playoff. For the 2024-25 college football season, the playoff expands from four to 12 teams. We expect that a vote will come through to confirm a 5 + 7 arrangement where the SEC conference champion will be guaranteed a playoff spot. The seven at-large bids will be based on the playoff rankings of which the SEC is expected to have at least one or more teams.
