The 2024 WAC baseball tournament schedule takes place from May 21st through May 25th, 2024. The tournament is held at Hohokam Stadium in Mesa, Arizona. The top eight teams in the conference at the end of regular season play earn a spot in the University Credit Union WAC Baseball Tournament (the official name). The champion earns the automatic bid from the WAC to the 2024 NCAA DI baseball tournament.
2024 WAC Baseball Tournament History
From the early 1960s until 1981, the WAC had the two division champions play a best-of-three playoff match. Then, the tournament started up in 1982. Through 1987, it was the top two teams from each division that played in double elimination play. Then it went to the top four finishers (when divisions were scrapped) through 1992. The WAC would try out a few different postseason schemes until 2006 they brought back the tournament and had the top six teams advance to the postseason.
In 2022 when we got back to playing post-COVID, the tournament expanded to eight teams with the top four from each division earning a spot. So, very similar to the SEC Tournament, not all teams get to play in the 2024 WAC baseball tournament schedule. The top eight from the regular season earn spots to compete in the tourney.

The 2024 WAC Baseball Tournament schedule gets started with the opening round on Tuesday, May 21st. These games are single-elimination play. Then, the first round starts the next day when we move into double elimination play.

2024 NCAA DI Baseball Tournament
The winner of the 2024 WAC baseball tournament earns the conference’s automatic bid to the 2024 NCAA DI baseball tournament. All of the teams who make it to the tourney have 1 goal: to earn a spot in the 2024 College World Series. We’ll see how far the WAC champion can go this year.
