The 2024 NHL Draft schedule takes place on June 28th and June 29th, 2024. The draft is being held at the Sphere in Las Vegas, Nevada. All rounds are set to be aired live on TV and streaming services. Coverage on ESPN for day 1 of the draft starts at 7PM Eastern Time. We have all of the broadcast details and first round draft order for you below.
What is the 2024 NHL Draft Schedule TV Broadcast Plan?
The 2024 NHL draft schedule first round is being shown and streamed (where applicable) on ESPN, ESPN+, SN, and TVAS. Officially known as the 2024 Upper Deck NHL Draft this season, the first round is expected to have the most viewers. Rounds 2-7 take place on June 29th starting at 11:30 am ET. These picks are being shown on ESPN+, NHLN, SN, and SN1. For day 1, if you do not get ESPN, popular streaming services like Hulu + Live TV, Fubo, and YouTube TV carry the channel (and the draft). We probably will not see the 2024-25 NHL regular season schedule put out by the time the draft takes place. If not, it should come out soon after too.
Can You Attend the 2024 NHL Draft in Person?
The NHL is selling tickets to attend either day of the draft in person if you are going to be in Las Vegas. At the time of this writing, there are still tickets remaining for day 1. The few left in the 200 row of seating are $137 and change. To sit up high is about $60 USD (before fees and taxes). Day 2 tickets are cheaper coming in at $27 and change. If you are going and taking young children, be advised if they are over two years old, they’ll need a ticket too.
Who Won the 2024 NHL Draft Lottery?
The 2024 NHL Draft Lottery took place on May 7th. The San Jose Sharks won the lottery and have the #1 pick for this year. The Chicago Blackhawks won the second pick of the draft. The first 16 picks of the draft were set by the lottery. Then, the 12 teams that lost in the first two rounds of the NHL playoffs were assigned picks 17-28. If they did not win their division, they were set in the opposite order of the regular season standings (points). Then, since they lost, the Vancouver Canucks. The conference finals losers get picks 29 and 30. The Stanley Cup runner-up gets pick 31, and the Stanley Cup champion gets pick 32.

2024-25 NHL Regular Season and Postseason Schedules
I think the NHL Draft and schedule release are one of my favorite times of the year. The NHL will normally put the skeds out after the Stanley Cup Finals. They typically release in the front half-of July, so our best guess is the week after the draft to see the regular season schedule put out. We also have the blank, 2025 Stanley Cup playoff bracket out for when you want to work your way too early playoff predictions and playoff picture 🙂
