Which Stadiums Hosted Games During the 2016 Copa America?

The 2016 Copa America, or Copa América Centenario, used 10 venues for the tournament. Of these, MetLife Stadium, NRG Stadium, Levi’s Stadium and State Farm Stadium are the returning venues for 2024.

Why is the United States Hosting the Tournament Again So Soon?

So, my first question other than being excited to host the tournament, was why is it back in the United States again so soon? Normally, the hosting duties rotate between the 10 COMNEBOL nations in South America. Ecuador was supposed to be the original host, but had to back out due to security issues. So, under a new partnership between CONMEBOL and CONCACAF the U.S. entered the picture.

Eight of the stadiums being used are also designated as host venues for the 2026 FIFA World Cup that is being hosted by the US, Mexico, and Canada. These stadiums are Arrowhead, AT&T Stadium, MetLife Stadium, Mercedes-Benz Stadium, Levi’s Stadium, Hard Rock Stadium, SoFi Stadium, and NRG Stadium. This just helps those preparation  war efforts.
