NFL Saturday Doubleheader
Here’s all the info for the NFL Saturday Doubleheader today. You can also checkout the NFL Week 16 pickem sheet that we have posted up for you here too.
Game 1: Philadelphia Eagles at Washington Commanders (5:00 p.m. ET, FOX)
The defending Super Bowl champion Eagles head to Northwest Stadium in Landover, Maryland, looking to solidify their grip on the NFC East. At 9-5, Philadelphia snapped a skid with a 31-0 shutout over the Raiders last week, showcasing Jalen Hurts (three TD passes) and a defense that’s rounding into form under coordinator Vic Fangio.
Washington, meanwhile, is playing spoiler after a disappointing 4-10 campaign that has them eliminated from playoff contention. Rookie QB Jayden Daniels has been shut down for the season due to injury, paving the way for veteran Marcus Mariota to start. The Commanders are coming off a 29-21 win over the Giants, but facing a motivated Eagles squad on short rest will be a tall order.
Key Matchups to Watch:
- Eagles’ rushing attack (led by Saquon Barkley) vs. Commanders’ run defense.
- Philly’s secondary containing Washington’s remaining weapons.
Betting Odds (as of Dec. 20): Eagles -7, Over/Under 44.5
Prediction: Eagles 28, Commanders 17. Philadelphia keeps rolling toward a division title.
Game 2: Green Bay Packers at Chicago Bears (8:20 p.m. ET, FOX)
The nightcap brings the NFL’s oldest rivalry to Soldier Field in Chicago, where cold and potentially blustery conditions could factor in. The Bears (10-4) have surged into first place in the NFC North, riding the hot hand of rookie QB Caleb Williams and a revitalized offense under head coach Ben Johnson. Chicago is seeking revenge after a 28-21 loss to Green Bay earlier this month.
The Packers (9-4-1) are reeling from injuries, including a season-ending ACL tear to star pass rusher Micah Parsons. Green Bay’s defense has struggled without him, and they’ll need Jordan Love to exploit any weaknesses in Chicago’s secondary. This game could decide the NFC North winner, with massive seeding implications.
Key Matchups to Watch:
- Bears’ run game (featuring D’Andre Swift) vs. Packers’ depleted front.
- Caleb Williams’ mobility against Green Bay’s pass rush.
Betting Odds (as of Dec. 20): Bears -2.5, Over/Under 46.5
Prediction: Bears 27, Packers 24. Chicago protects home field and takes control of the division.
Why This Doubleheader Matters
With only three weeks left in the regular season, these games could lock in division titles, wild-card spots, or even first-round byes. The Eagles can clinch the NFC East with a win, while the Bears-Packers winner gains a huge edge in the crowded NFC North race.
