Quick Game Preview: Star Power vs. Veteran Muscle
No. 5 Duke (4-0) is rolling after freshman Cameron Boozer erupted for 35 points in a 100-62 rout of Indiana State last week. Jon Scheyer’s group is long, athletic, and shooting 41% from three early. Kansas (3-1), fresh off jumping into the top 25 at No. 21 after a dominant 76-57 win over Princeton, counters with the best big man in the country in Hunter Dickinson (17.8 PPG, 10.4 RPG) and a veteran backcourt led by Dajuan Harris and Zeke Mayo. The big question mark: freshman guard Darryn Peterson remains day-to-day with right hamstring tightness and has missed the last two games. His status for Tuesday is still TBD pending practice. Kansas has owned this series lately (wins in 2016, 2018, and 2022), but Duke’s length could make life tough inside for the Jayhawks if Dickinson gets fronted.Expect a rock-fight pace and a single-digit finish during this preview for March Madness.
