Who Will Be the New York Giants Next Head Coach? Bill Belichick’s Case (and Why It Might Not Matter)

Who Will Be the Next New York Giants Head Coach

Well, the New York Giants just decided to blow it up when they fired Brian Daboll on November 10th, 2025. The Giants have a 2-8 record, and a rookie QB1 now in Jaxson Dart. So, the question on who the New York Giants next head coach will be is being asked a lot. One of the more popular rumors is Bill Belichick coming back home. But is this just nostalgia porn for a franchise that hasn’t won a playoff game since 2011?

We’re going to bracket the candidates like we do March Madness. Because right now, the Giants’ search is a single-elimination tournament of résumés, relationships, and more.

The Belichick Homecoming: Dream or Delusion?

So, when we’re asking who will be the next New York Giants Head Coach? Is the Belichick homecoming a dream or delusion?

Pros

  • Two Super Bowl rings as Giants defensive coordinator (1986, 1990).
  • Six more as Patriots HC. Culture architect.
  • Knows the building, the market, the pressure cooker.
  • Still has the hoodie intimidation factor at age 73.

Cons

  • 29-38 record without Tom Brady since 2020.
  • Currently coaching college at North Carolina. Coach publicly says he’s “all-in” on the Tar Heels.
  • Tabloid girlfriend Jordon Hudson (24) would become New York’s newest sideshow.
  • DraftKings odds sit at +1200—fourth on the board.

Belichick told reporters yesterday he’s “focused on UNC,” but NFL insiders whisper the Giants have already reached out. Translation: money talks, hoodie listens. Still, the smart money says Big Blue needs a Dart whisperer more than a nostalgia hire. Enter the rest of the bracket.

Bracket-Style Showdown Scenarios

Sweet 16 Dream Matchup

Lane Kiffin vs. Bill Belichick

  • Kiffin pitches “Dart 2.0” air-raid revival.
  • Belichick counters with “I already won here—twice.”
Winner: Kiffin (GM Joe Schoen wants 8–10 years, not 2–3).

Elite 8 Dark Horse

Klint Kubiak vs. Steve Spagnuolo

  • Kubiak: “I’ll make Dart the next Geno Smith—on steroids.”
  • Spagnuolo: “I’ll make your defense not the worst in football.”
    Winner: Kubiak (offense sells tickets).

Who Will be the NExt New York Giants Head Coach? The Real X-Factor: Ownership

John Mara has swung and missed on Joe Judge, Brian Daboll, and now this. Sources say he’s obsessed with pairing Dart with his college play-caller (Kiffin) or a proven NFL offensive mind (McCarthy/Kubiak). Belichick only enters if Mara decides “culture > scheme” and is willing to eat $15M+ per year.

Final Prediction (Bracket-Style)

  1. Championship Game: Mike McCarthy vs. Lane Kiffin
  2. Winner:Lane Kiffin
    • Dart’s comfort level wins the room.
    • Kiffin gets a 5-year, $50M deal with full personnel control.
    • Belichick stays in Chapel Hill, hoodie intact, Kiffin rides off into the sunset from Ole Miss (but when??)
