The 2024 NCAA Division II basketball tournament bracket is out. The men’s basketball tournament schedule kicks off on March 16th. The field of 64 will compete in single elimination play through three rounds on campus sites first. Then, the games will move to the Ford Center in Evansville, Indiana from March 26-30, 2024 for the Elite Eight, semifinal, and championship rounds of play. The DII Championship game takes place on March 30, 2024. We have the updated Men’s DII bracket, schedule and results up here for you.
How Many Automatic Qualifiers are there in the DII Basketball Tournament?
Three are a total of 23 automatic bids to the Division II Men’s basketball tournament. This reflects the 23 DII conferences. The remaining 41 teams who earn a spot in the tournament are from at-large bids. The NCAA allocates the bids evenly across the eight designated regions for DII (Atlantic, Central, East, Midwest, South, South Central, Southeast, and West). Each of the regions has between two and three conferences and there will be either 5-6 at-large bids assigned to this group. So, it’s set up a little different than if you are used to following D-I Tourney selections.
